Valentini’s World
A digital collage created from photographs of illustrations in a natural history encyclopedia written by Michael Bernhard Valentini in 1704, which aims to serve a visual commentary on the ways in which these illustrations were often anatomically inaccurate, and the fantastical stories attached to them at times perpetuated a problematic tradition of exoticism.
